Scott Shaffer's Ludo
In response to my blog post last Sunday I got a text from my friend/ fellow artist Scott Shaffer. He sent me a picture he had sculpted of Ludo from Labyrinth a month before I had done that digital painting. Here are the pics of his Ludo Sculpture:

Ludo
Remember 1986? Your favorite film Labyrinth just hit theaters and it did awful. You prided yourself on being a hipster(yeah they were around back then too) and you claimed that Jim Henson was a genius ahead of his time. But then...
WTF?!?! When the crap did everyone else start liking the Labyrinth? No! I heard of them first! You're just a poser!
...good times
I wasn't born then....
Anyway, Ludo is probably the best character that Henson ever created. I don't know why. Maybe it's the fact that he's this giant monster, but you're never afraid of him. Not like those dancing bird monkeys that throw their heads at you.(They're called Firey -googled)

Battle of the Bands in Utah

| Battle of the Bands UTAH |
Here's one of a battle of the bands Illustration that I did a while ago. It was agains two rival bands, called maybe tomorrow (MT or 'empty') and a band called chasing chance. I don't think that chasing chance even knew I did a poster for them but hey. Other bands were in it too, like Diamond village, rev mahem, and ...others. Really I just heard a story about two french men who wanted to do a duel in hot air balloons and I wanted to draw it. A lot of details aren't there like the drivers who took them up, but I'm pretty sure one of them had a mustache like that.

St. Vincent
I use to be a little biased about girl singers. I don't blame people that have felt that way. The people in the limelight have been Britney Spears, Cher, Spice Girls, Pussycat Dolls, etc. I just didn't relate to what they were saying. So I falsely stereotyped all female vocalists and never gave them a chance. I'm glad that I have changed my tastes and allowed myself to be exposed to some incredible singers: Jenny Lewis, Blondie's Debbie Harry, Neely Jenkins and Jamie Pressnall from Tilly and the Wall, Regina Spektor, Karen O, Zoey Deschanel, etc. There are so many more. Check them out. Widen your tastes, you never know what will happen. This is a picture of St. Vincent that I drew. She is incredible.
